CHOCOLATE HEAVEN
at Cocoa Amore
KuKu Connect held a special Christmas Connect Reception for members at the indulgent Cocoa-Amore on Silver Street.
Surrounded by chocolate temptation, members were treated to chocolate canapes and rather good fizz. House, white chocolate champagne and apple strudel truffles were all part of the offering as well as 6 different samples from around the world. Daniel Chambers Cocoa-Amore’s Store Manager led the mini workshop talking about chocolate history and some unexpected truths about chocolate. The chocolate wheel which was tempering fine Colombian chocolate is a sight with its deep bowl of liquid chocolate, let alone the truffle counter with an abundance of tempting creations, including a marmite truffle.
“MD Peter Gardner and his team were host with the most at a celebratory Connect Reception for our members to kick off the Christmas season. Although this event was more informal our members were able to network, indulge and shop, culminating in chocolate truffle making where we learnt about chocolate and rolled our own truffles to take home, which was a great experience.” Managing Director, Stephen Goddard, of KuKu Connect.
Housed in a old Victorian shoe makers Cocoa-Amore on Silver Street hand makes its chocolates on site which makes the business unique as there are no other high street chocolate makers in the UK outside of London. “I want to give people a chocolate experience” says Founder and Managing Director, Peter Gardner, of Cocoa-Amore. In keeping with the building’s heritage a handmade chocolate shoe was made filled with truffles for the free prize draw which was drawn by Peter and won by Matt Youdale from Arch Communications
“Another great night”, “Fab evening”, “Very knowledgeable staff”, “So nice and so tasty”, “I can’t eat anymore” were just some of the comments from members who received their new Privilege Cards and put them to good use with 20% off at Cocoa-Amore and 20% off Truffle and Chocolate Making Workshops.
“The KuKu Connect Reception events are extremely well put together by a passionate team who just want to bring likeminded businesses and individuals together to build and strengthen relationships”
With the festive season in full sway members were invited on to Divine Ladies Wear Boutique to their VIP launch evening, just a few doors up from Cocoa-Amore on Silver Street. Rosie and Zoe designers and founders of Divine were hosting to a wide array of ladies from actors, professionals, the odd WAG and bridesmaids. Divine offer a wide selection of evening wear, glittering gowns and bridesmaid wear and really do have a wide offer with complimentary fittings to make that perfect fit. Guests also enjoyed Cocoa-Amore chocolates with the evening all carefully curated by the dashing Kevin Urquhart, our member from dluxe Leicestershire & Rutland magazine. We look forward to hearing more about Divine and wish them every success.
“We enjoyed another excellent evening but that is down to the great businesses in Leicester who offer great service and a great product, it was gin in November, chocolate for December and art for January. Unfortunately we had to disappoint a number of businesses who wanted to attend, so I would encourage any business to visit our website or get in touch if they would like to attend our Connect Receptions and join to receive all member benefits and our new complimentary Privilege Cards.” Development Director, Philip Brooks-Stephenson, of KuKu Connect.
KuKu Connect Receptions take place on the first Thursday of each month between 6-8pm in top locations in and around Leicester. For further details on membership please visit www.kukuconnect.co.uk/join
