What is the best gift for a 10-year Anniversary? A secure and promising future perhaps
East Midland-based company, Foremost Security, are celebrating 10 years in business.
Whilst lockdown may restrict the size and nature of their planned celebrations, not even a pandemic can dampen the positive spirit of the team who will be looking back at how they have weathered many challenges in this decade and come out stronger for it.
Since its inception in 2010, Foremost has seen it’s fair share of challenges, from staff downfalls to financial challenges. That said, the overall picture of their past isn’t a gloomy one. Foremost have ridden the storm and have used their learnings, their strengths and their ambition to thrive. Now one of the largest independent security firms in the region, Foremost can attribute some of their significant growth to the seamless takeover of Cerberus Facilities Management. Having been approached by the Nottingham-based security provider in 2019 to discuss a possible deal, the Foremost team not only managed to negotiate the purchase, but also successfully retained and secured 80% of Cerberus’s clients – despite them having been historically and significantly under-charged. Tact, professionalism and good service prevailed and made sure Foremost hit 2020 in good shape.
So, what is the secret formula which Foremost Security have applied to their activities to achieve an increase in revenue from £1.2Million to over £3Million? Strong business values and a closely knit team may be the main ingredients of this success. Matt Prince, Sales & Marketing Director, joined the company in 2013 and told us:
“I had no previous experience in the industry, but thankfully there was enough expertise and commitment within the team to make sure I learned everything I needed – and more – in a short space of time. Every day is different, the people are great and the variety of clients we have is fantastic. What I initially thought of a ‘a job’ soon turned out to be a career and I quickly began to live and breathe Foremost!”
In Matt’s words, everyone is clear on where they want to be:
“The team and I have a clear path for the future, and we have set the milestones we want to reach together. We achieved substantial growth in a competitive market despite some significant challenges, and this is in no small way due to the positive attitude and high values we apply to everything we do.”
The plan for the future is also positively ambitious. Both Matt and Managing Director, Paul Ritchie, see their Key Holding and Alarm Response client base growing to over 1000 by the end of this year alone. Even with the modest growth on their current Manned Guarding hours of 4000 per week, the team still have a huge focus on further growing their other services from Key Holding, Mobile Patrols and Lock & Unlocks across the East Midlands. With these plans in place, there’s no doubt they will be on course to exceed £5Million turnover goal within 3 years.
What’s more, in the last 12 months Foremost have welcomed 4 new staff members, including a Business Development Manager. Alongside this they have added 2 new vans to their fleet, which now boasts 8 professionally liveried vehicles. This level of investment in the future makes it easy to see why they are currently also reviewing their office location with a view to making a move in Spring 2021. We suspect however that the growth has not reached its pinnacle just yet and the future is both bright and secure.
